How much would you add to do 320 ( about 10 lbs) meatballs
I have a standard crockpot. We were celebrating my daughters 1st birthday and I have 24 people over at 11 am. I poured a large bag of Frozen Italian meatballs in my crock pot at 7 a.m. along with the sauce. I cooked them on low and they were very ready to eat at 11:30 when lunch was served. Everyone loved them and asked for the recipe.
I've made these several times. Even made them with chicken meatballs. Always a hit! Never any left!
Sweet and Sour Meatballs
I make these all the time for different occasions. They are the first to go. I cook them them in the
crockpot on Low 4 hours. they are delicious.
Slow cooker oops
The pre-cooked meatballs do NOT require four hours on "HIGH" in a slow cooker! I was doubtful to begin with, as stovetop cooking instructions call for only 15 minutes(!) but I tossed everything in the CrockPot for convenience. I checked the meatballs after 90 minutes and by then the sauce was bubbling and reduced in quantity (added 1/3 cup water) and meatballs were steaming. Because the dish was ready ahead of time, I held it on warm until serving time and it was "okay" (not what I expected) but don't know if the flavor was the same as if the sauce had not been over-cooked.
