Festive Cranberry Star

  • Festive Cranberry Star

Ingredients:

14" square of black foamcore board
24-gauge beading or floral wire
Black cloth tape
Hot glue gun/glue sticks
1-2 12-oz. bags Ocean Spray® Fresh Cranberries
2”-wide ivory satin ribbon

Directions:

Cut star shape out of black foamcore. Cut an 8” piece of wire and twist it into a 2”-wide loop for hanging. Fasten the loop securely to back of star with black tape.

Using a hot glue gun, attach cranberries to the front surface of star, grouping berries tightly together. Continue attaching cranberries around edges of star. Thread ribbon through wire loop on back of star and tie a secure bow. Hang the star from bow.

Hang decoration in covered doorway or sheltered area. Decoration will last several days, longer in cooler climates or out of direct sunlight. Discard once berries begin to soften. To extend the life of your decoration, you can spray with an even coating of shellac.

These stars are so pretty hanging in the window...you can do both sides if you want. The colors are eyecatching....you could make your own pattern for smaller stars and make them with the cranberries and hang them in various lengths for a really nice look.
