Don't forget to use a bottom pie crust, for those cooks who follow a recipe exactly! I use instead of sugar an equivalant amount of sweetening power of stevia. If using the pure white powder it is 1/8th of a teaspoon. The entire family loves it, and has asked for it again this year for the holidays. It has moved my life long love of pumpkin pie to 2nd place!

When I was young, (12 yrs. old) Mom made this every year for Thanksgiving dessert. It was a family favorite. As an adult, I've made it many times for my family, and now my son, who is 29, loves making it too! This favorite has endured for approx. 50 years!
We always stocked up on berries and froze them for out of season use.

This pie was given to me as a gift. I was instantly addicted. I love it! Since then I make it every year. It's great with coffee for breakfast...
