A Family Holiday Tradition aka "The Pink Stuff"
I started making this recipe years ago and it has become a family favorite, expected at every holiday meal. My family has lovingly nick-named it "The Pink Stuff", so I decided it would also be a great addition for my 20 Yr. Breast Cancer Survivor Celebration this year.
I follow this recipe, except I use cran-raspberry sauce, instead of plain cranberry sauce (I can find it ONLY at the holiday time at ONE local store--PLEASE bring this product back to the everyday store on all year long!
Another change I have always made, is adding fresh raspberries to it. (frozen would need to be defrosted totally and juice drained or the mousse will not set--I found this out the hard way...).
I've made this for many years, but I use real whipping cream. I use it to fill cream puffs and I use it to fill a chocolate-crumb pie crust. It is a family favorite.
Can use whipping cream
Very easy to substitute whipping cream for the non-dairy creamer.
I thought this sounded so good until I read the ingredients and saw Cool Whip. Why would I spend my time and money making something that's supposed to taste good and then add a chemical laden, chemical tasting product? Yuk!!
YUM YUM YUM!!!!
This has been a family favorite for many years. I have put it in a pie shell and have also filled phylo dough cups.
