Perfect balance sweet and tart
Easy to make and even easier to eat!
Made this for my mom's birthday in October and it was such a hit that it was requested for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I did cut the cranberries in half so it was more of an apple pie with just the right amount of zing. I also used Granny Smith apples. It's the brown sugar that makes the difference as opposed to refined sugar.
Demanded at Family Gatherings
This pie is so loved by my family and friends that it is demanded at all gatherings. It is so easy to make and is absolutely delicious! The combination of sweet with the zing of the cranberry is a fantastic twist on a classic dessert.
Very Good... USE THE NUTS!
I tried this a couple of weeks ago and it was very good. I am not a fan of walnuts, but decided to use them since my husband is a big fan of them. The nuts really took it to the next level. The filling was moist, but not super juicy... which works well with the nuts. The only issue I has was that it started browning quickly in the oven and I had to cover it with foil after only 20 minutes. My crust was a bit overdone by the time the fruit started bubbling. I will try it again with a different crust at a lower temp and see.
Made this Pie
Being Apple Season here in the Northeast PA. area, I made this Apple/Cranberry Pie. It was the best tasting pie i've ever made....Thank you Ocean Spray for such a fantastic recipe!
