1.5 ounces Bombay Sapphire East
1 ounce Plymouth Sloe Gin
3/4 ounce Alvear "Montilla" Sherry
2 ounces apple-cranberry compote (separate directions below)
3/4 ounce lemon juice
3 ounces Ocean Spray® Sparkling Cranberry Juice Drink
Apple slices, garnish
2 Granny Smith green apples
1 cup Ocean Spray® Cranberries
1 cup sugar
1 cup apple cider
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon allspice
2 cinnamon sticks
Directions for apple-cranberry compote:
Peel and core apples. Add all ingredients to a medium stock pot and cook until cranberries pop and apples soften and break down (about 20 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool, then place into a blender and puree. Pour mixture into a china cap and strain to remove the excess spices and large chunks. Reserve for cocktail.
Directions for cocktail:
In a large shaker filled with ice, add all ingredients in order, except for the sparkling cranberry juice. Shake hard and strain into pitcher with ice. Top with sparkling cranberry juice. Garnish with apple slice & cranberries.
Makes 6-8 servings.
