Prep Time


Makes about 3 cups


1 unpeeled orange, cut into eighths and seeded
1 12-ounce package Ocean Spray® Fresh or Frozen Cranberries, rinsed and drained
3/4-1 cup sugar


Place half the cranberries and half the orange slices in food processor container. Process until mixture is evenly chopped. Transfer to a bowl. Repeat with remaining cranberries and orange slices. Stir in sugar. Store in refrigerator or freezer.

Makes about 3 cups.

NOTE: May also be prepared in a food grinder.

My daughter tried this recipe years ago. And forgot about it. She wanted it for Christmas and here it is. It is fabulous.

My way

I have made and loved this for years but did adjust: 1 orange in cuisenart (metal blade), spin, 1 bag rinsed berries, spin 2 more peeled, oranges, center and seeds removed, spin. Place in bowl, add juice of fresh oranges to desired liquid. Add light Agave nector to taste ..... if necessary, I add 1 - 2 T granulated sugar at the end to add a little more sweetness.

This is as easy as it is delicious! From the grandparents to the kids, 7 and 10, all loved the fresh simple relish! My kids have requested for “non-holiday” meals. Big win and looks beatutiful in relish dish.

A Holiday Tradition

My mother started making this when I was a teenager. Awesome stuff from the original recipe. Great year around on a bagel with cream cheese. Her Christmas variation was adding chopped walnuts and molding it into raspberry jello as a salad with a dressing of 50/50 Miracle Whip and sour cream. I suspect there was some thinly sliced and chopped celery in this too - not sure, can't ask, she's no longer with us. Maybe the secret is in the recipe trove. I usually keep this in the fridge just for bagels, if not a refreshing snack.
