Ingredients

1 unpeeled orange, cut into eighths and seeded
1 12-ounce package Ocean Spray® Fresh or Frozen Cranberries, rinsed and drained
3/4-1 cup sugar

Directions

Place half the cranberries and half the orange slices in food processor container. Process until mixture is evenly chopped. Transfer to a bowl. Repeat with remaining cranberries and orange slices. Stir in sugar. Store in refrigerator or freezer.

Makes about 3 cups.

NOTE: May also be prepared in a food grinder.

This is hands down the most delicious relish out there!

Cranberry Orange Relish

I have been making this in quantities for pint gifts to special people for many years. It is perfect for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. It makes a very pretty gift in a Mason Jar with ribbon or cord collar and your special message attached. Each year I change the packaging by using a circular piece of fabric under the screw ring using red velvet at Christmas, or something in the orange family for Thanksgiving. You are only limited by your imagination.

I made this recipe over 30 years ago while living in the San Francisco area.. slight difference in my ingredients: 2 bags of cranberries, 2 oranges (nice juicy shiny skin oranges) seeded but leave the peel, 2 small apples cored and peeled, 1 pear seeded and cored. Using a food processor, just take it all to a nice relish texture.. Add about a cup of sugar, taste, and depending on how you like yours, adjust the sugar from that point... This recipe not only works for Turkey, Chicken, and basically any bird, but also put on a meatloaf sandwich is "grrrreeeaaattttt"...
