Half-sugar cranberry sauce
You can use 1/2 cup sugar and the result is great. More tart, of course, but better than the full-cup version, in my opinion.
Another variation: Run the boiled cranberries through a stainless steel food mill (the hand-crank device with discs with different-sized holes used for making applesauce).
Pomegranate juice instead of water
I use pomegranate juice instead of water. After I put it in a bowl I add pomegranate seeds. Gives it more texture and flavor. Everyone loves it this way.
OJ instead of water
I love this recipe except I use orange juice instead of water
I can't make enough.
We not only love this in the winter but I freeze lots to have with summer barbeque. It's excellent with the flavors of the grill and the smoker and I've even made it into
a sauce for grilled lamb. Mmmmm
I have stopped buying canned cranberries over a decade ago! This is the easiest recipe and you can add whatever you like to enhance the taste. 1 cup sugar 1 cup water it never fails. Taste is unbelievable! I stock up and freeze the bags so I don't run out.
