Refreshing Side toTurkey, Chicken and Pork!
I've made this recipe for every Thanksgiving and Christmas turkey dinner for decades! I make it ahead and put it in the freezer. But I also make a batch, thanks to finding cranberries in my grocery store's freezer section, all year long! I freeze it in a square container so whenever I want some, I take it out and slice off a couple inches to add to our plates. By the time dinner is ready, it's defrosted. Yum!
I made this using 1/2 peeled orange and 1/2 unpeeled..added 1 teaspoon cinnamon and tbsp lemon juice...really good...I love that no nutrients are lost by cooking as in some recipes!
I used 1/3 cup sugar added pecans and juice of 1/2 lemon. Excellent. Really good in kale salad also
My Aunt makes this recipe and adds more ingredients to stretch the relish. She will add:
Cherry Jell-O, sugar, chopped Apples, Oranges, Walnuts and celery(optional)
OMG... how can you top that PA ?
