Midway between Chicago and Milwaukee along the shores of Lake Michigan sits the City of Kenosha, one of the gems of America’s heartland. First settled over 13,000 years ago by native Americans, Kenosha’s name traces from the Potowatomi Indians who celebrated the area for its exceptional fishing – a tradition that continues today with superb salmon fishing on ‘the big lake’ and many freshwater opportunities inland.
Since 1970, Kenosha has also been home to an Ocean Spray Beverage plant where 425,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space bustle on 45 acres. Here 280 union employees – with an average 12.4 years of service – produce 24 million cases of Ocean Spray juices, canned sauces and tetra aseptic (highly shelf-stable) beverages on seven production lines.
