This is the part of the website where we get to brag a little and tell you about our history. You might be asking, how does a small collective of three cranberry growers transform itself into an American icon and the number one brand of canned and bottled juice drinks in the United States? Well, it all started over 75 years ago.

Ocean Spray was formed in 1930 by three cranberry growers who really loved their cranberries and wanted to expand the market for their favorite crop. Led by lawyer and cranberry grower Marcus L. Urann, the growers came up with new and innovative products made from cranberries.

They first introduced Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Cocktail in 1930. Then in 1963, Ocean Spray revolutionized the marketplace with the introduction of the juice industry's first juice blend--Cran•Apple™ Cranberry Apple Juice Drink. It was such a big hit, the cooperative added a bunch of new flavors to the line, including low calorie cranberry juice blends.

In 1976, we expanded our co-op to include grapefruit growers from Florida's Indian River region. Our Ocean Spray® Grapefruit Juice quickly became the number-one bottled grapefruit juice in the country. The very first citrus blend, Ocean Spray® Pink Grapefruit Juice Cocktail soon followed and was also a big hit. In 1991, we introduced Ocean Spray® Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice Drink. This drink became so popular it was the most successful product introduction in our history. Up to that point, anyway. And we haven't stopped introducing grapefruit juice blends. With flavors ranging from strawberries, tangerines to mango.

Then in 1993 we started getting really innovative. That's when we introduced Craisins® Sweetened Dried Cranberries. These surprisingly sweet snacks caught on in a big way and now they're in hundreds of supermarket and bakery products all over the world.

As you can see, one thing we like to do is add new flavors and products. And over the past few years we've added a bunch. In 2001 we introduced two new flavors of Craisins® Sweetened Dried Cranberries-cherry and orange. That year we also launched White Cranberry Juice Drinks-a smoother, less tart version of our juice. The white harvest in the late summer, and the red harvest in the fall. Other juice flavors we've added over the last few years include, Wildberry Juice Drink, Premium 100% Juice and a light version of White Cranberry.

As you can see, the same resourcefulness and innovation that those original cranberry growers had 75 years ago is alive and well today. And of course, because we love growing cranberries, we'll keep bringing you the products everyone knows and loves. As well as some new ones.
