How should I store products after they've been opened?

Juices and Juice Drinks
Ocean Spray juice products do not contain preservatives and must be capped tightly and refrigerated after opening. While we cannot say exactly how long our juice products will stay fresh after opening, in general they may be kept refrigerated for two to three weeks.


Craisins® Sweetened Dried Cranberries
Craisins® should be tightly sealed in their original package and store in a pantry or cupboard at room temperature. For optimum quality, please use by the "Best By" date stamped on the back, bottom of the package.

Fresh Cranberries
Fresh cranberries should be stored in the refrigerator in their original plastic bag for up to a month. We suggest freezing them if you are not going to use them during that time frame. Cranberries freeze nicely, in their original package, and last up to one year.

Jellied or Whole Berry Sauce
Prior to opening, cranberry sauce can be stored at room temperature or the refrigerator. After opening, remove from the can and store tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. We do not recommend freezing cranberry sauce, as after thawing, it may become too watery.


Fresh Grapefruit
Grapefruit lasts longer under refrigeration, but can also be stored in a cool, dry place. Remove from plastic bags before storing, as moisture trapped inside the bags may promote mold growth.

How long can I store your juices and juice drinks if they haven't been opened?
Unopened products under normal storage conditions should remain acceptable from six to 12 months from the time they are manufactured. This will vary depending on the product. For best quality and taste we recommend that you use products before the date stamped on them.

For our juice products we print a "Best By" date on the front shoulder of the bottle, underneath the Ocean Spray logo. For example BEST BY 26APR11
26 = Day of the month
APR = Month of the year (April)
11 = Year (2011)
For sauce products the code is located on the lid of the can. For example 12MAY11
12 = Day of the Month
MAY = Month of the year (May)
11 = Year (2011)

For Craisins® the code is located on the back, bottom of the pouch. For example 12MAY11
12 = Day of the Month
MAY = Month of the year (May)
11 = Year (2011)
