Makes 2 1/2 cups


1 14-ounce can Ocean Spray® Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup peeled, diced apple
1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons vinegar
1/8 teaspoon allspice
1/8 teaspoon ginger
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
dash ground cloves


Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender and sauce has thickened slightly, about 30 minutes.

Makes about 2 1/2 cups.

25 years ago on a visit to Cape Cod, we toured the Ocean Spray Facility. I picked up this handy little recipe index card set that included this recipe. I have been making it for every Thanksgiving since and it is a famiy staple at our table. Several years back I began making it in big batches and jarring int for friends and family as Thanksgiving gifts. It is a wonderful recipe to make with kids and grandkids as all can help!

Made this for Thanksgiving dinner and husband has requested it again at Christmas. We served it as an appetizer with cream cheese and also with the turkey. As we are from Louisiana, I increased the proportions of the spices.

you can also add diced pieces of mandarin oranges and orange marmalade it gives it a wonderful cran-orange flavor which complements the hint of clove in it . I recommend making sure that the mandarins are well drained or chutney will not be as thick i pressed them in a paper towel . I used 1/4 to 1/2 cup orange marmalade.

I'd give it 15 stars - it's that good.

I was looking for a condiment to serve as taste foil for my my smoked turkey breasts I was preparing for a charity "Taste of " event. This was a marriage made in heaven! The spice rub on the turkey had a touch of cinnamon and allspice and the two together was nothing short of spectacular. The most compliments I've ever recieved-virtually everybody wanted the recipe.
