- 2 pounds fresh broccoli spears
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
- Lemon slices for garnish
Place steamer basket in large saucepan; add water to just below the basket. Bring to a boil.
Place broccoli spears on basket; cover. Reduce heat and keep water simmering. Steam until broccoli is crisp-tender, 9 to 11 minutes.
Place broccoli on serving platter. Sprinkle with lemon juice, lemon peel and pepper. If desired, garnish with lemon slices.
