1 cup

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

1 12-ounce package Ocean Spray® Fresh or Frozen Cranberries

Directions

Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; add cranberries, return to a boil. Reduce heat and boil gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Place a wire mesh strainer over a medium mixing bowl. Pour contents of saucepan into strainer. Mash cranberries with the back of a spoon, frequently scraping the outside of the strainer, until no pulp is left.

Stir contents of bowl. Pour into serving container. Cover and cool completely at room temperature. Refrigerate until serving time.

Makes 1 cup.

To be mire jellied and less runny

I used 1/4 C water with 2 bags and 1 3/4 C sugar to be more solid like the canned without the seeds. You might want more sugar because it is a bit tart. You have to use a heavy spoon and push through a wire strainer. It takes more time but is worth the effort!

I usually buy my Cranberry Sauce, but this time I wanted to make homemade instead. We usually go to the Cape in early November, but I wanted to buy some fresh cranberries and do this the old fashion way.( Well to me it is)~Instructions were very easy to follow. I did have one slight problem though, the sieving was a bit much. especially when you make enough for the entire large family. I chose to use my ninja, same great taste more bodied. No offense, but mine is much better..lol Thank you, From One Happy Nannie

This is a easy recipe that my great granddaughter will love to help me make for the holidays.She is 8 yrs old and loves to make new recipes with her nanny.
